**FILLED** SENIOR MARINE MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Our Client is a specialised marina operator based in Qatar providing a full range of premier services at their signature locations including Marina Management, Recreational Maritime Activities, Yacht Management, Yacht Sales, Yacht Charters, Exhibitions & Events, Boat Maintenance and Concierge Services

Purpose of the Job:
• The Senior Marine Mechanical Technician is the person who installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains engines, drive trains and other mechanical, electrical and fluid systems used in the recreational marine industry
• With endorsements this work involves all aspects of repairs to diesel engines, gasoline engines, outboard engines, conventional inboard drive trains and stern drives
• Candidate must be flexible and hands-on

Principal Accountabilities:
• Engine expert in the company and responsible for all installations, inspections and periodic maintenance of the boats in the company's marina or charter operations
• It is also expected that you will service a substantial amount of engines for clients each month

Main Activities:
• Pre-delivery inspections of engines on new boats
• Periodic servicing of engines of boats used for marina operations
• Marine engine problem diagnostics
• Inboard/Outboard repairs
• Engine servicing; changing oil, filters etc.
• Troubleshoot problems for customers, provide recommendations for problem resolution; provide estimates to customer for repair, replacement and installation according to problem diagnosis and repair/replacement recommendation
• Customer contact, parts order and follow-up
• Communicate with manufacturer technical help
• Maintenance and service Travelift (and attend maintenance course if needed)
• Installation of Jet Dock systems
• Gelcoat and woodwork repairs
• Other works related to the proper maintenance of the companies initerests in the shipyard

Qualifications:
• Yacht Master or equivalent (must be qualified and experienced to drive boats up to 15m)
• Candidate must possess at least a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in any related field
• Preferably equipped with a certificate from a technical school with specialization in mechanical/engine repairs
• Certification (eg. ABYC) a plus
• Training certificates with Outboard; Mercury/Yamaha/Honda etc.
• Training certificates with Inboard; Mercruiser/Cummins/Yanmar/Volvo Penta/MAN/MTU etc.
• Current driver's licence

Skills Knowledge & Experience:
• Proven track record in servicing of pleasure yachts
• At least 3 years of working experience as a Marine Mechanical Technician is required for this position
• Prior experience in a boatbuilding facility will be evaluated positively
• Fluent in English
